Winter Is Rubbish

So, After waking up early, getting on a coach at Leamington FC's New Windmill Ground, and even buying two souvenir flags, the game on Saturday was cancelled. Driving up the M6 at about 10 o'clock, the phone call came through that Halifax's pitch was frozen and the match was off. It turned the atmosphere on the coach fairly sour.

The game has provisionally been rearranged for Tuesday 18th December, but with the weather set to be even colder between now and then, I severely doubt that the pitch will get the all clear.

Leamington's travelling fan base will be drastically cut if Tuesday night goes ahead. They were set to take around 500 people on Saturday, and many will not be able to get the time off work for a midweek trip. Also, Leamington will be without their three best players, Mackey, Herlihy and Parkinson due to suspension.

If the game is played on Tuesday it will be some kind of miracle, but if it does then a match report will follow shortly after.
